Honest expectations, and real control
Most owners who call us about aggression have already stopped walking their dog at normal times of day. That is the problem worth fixing. Our aggression work starts with the same foundation as every other program, because a dog that cannot hold a command calmly has nothing to fall back on when it sees another dog. Once that foundation is in, the rest of the work is desensitization: careful, structured exposure at a distance your dog can handle, closing in only as fast as your dog can cope. We are straight with owners about this. Serious aggression is managed, not erased, and the skills and tools you learn are what put you back in control.
How we approach a reactive dog
Obedience first
The first four lessons are the basic obedience curriculum. Without it there is nothing to redirect to.
Desensitization work
Structured exposure around other dogs, at a distance your dog can actually handle.
Tools and handling
You learn the equipment and the timing, so you are not guessing in the moment.

The behavior modification program also covers guarding and dogs living with high anxiety.

Aggression and behavior programs
Aggression work is for dogs 20 weeks and older. Which program fits depends on how severe the behavior is and how much of the work you want to do yourself. Payment plans are available.
Aggressive Dog Training
8 private lessons. The first 4 are basic obedience, the final 4 work around other dogs in different scenarios.
Behavior Modification Board & Train
3 weeks minimum, on leash only. For aggressive or highly reactive dogs, resource guarding and high anxiety.
2 Week Board & Train
Two weeks immersive, for dogs whose problem is obedience and impulse control rather than aggression.

Aggression and reactivity questions
What does the 8 lesson aggressive dog training program cover?
Aggressive Dog Training is 8 private lessons for dogs with aggression or reactivity around other dogs. The first 4 lessons are our basic obedience program, which is the foundation everything else rests on. The final 4 are built around you and your dog specifically, working around other dogs and in different scenarios, and giving you the skills, tools and desensitization to put you back in control.
When is the Behavior Modification Board and Train the better choice?
The Behavior Modification Board and Train is a three week minimum, on leash only program for aggressive or highly reactive dogs, dogs that guard resources, and dogs living with high anxiety. Your dog stays and works with a professional trainer for the whole period. It is the right call when the behavior is too severe or too dangerous to be working through in weekly lessons, or when you need progress faster than lessons can deliver.
Will this fix my dog's aggression?
We will not promise that, and you should be wary of anyone who does. Serious behavior problems like dog aggression and people aggression are managed rather than erased. What this training gives you is control, a set of tools you know how to use, and a dog that can be around the things that used to set it off without the situation getting away from you. For many owners that is the difference between a dog they cannot walk and a dog they can.
Is my dog too far gone, or too old?
Almost certainly not. We work with rescues carrying real history, dogs that have already failed elsewhere, and adult dogs whose owners were told to give up. Tell us honestly what your dog does, including the bites if there have been any, and we will tell you honestly which program fits and what to expect. Aggression work is for dogs 20 weeks and older.
